Mount Moran was collecting the warmth of the rising sun while the valley below it was still in shadow, and the river had gone completely still — still enough to hold a perfect reflection of the mountain above.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe bend of the Snake River is what gives this location its name, and its power. The curve of the water pulls you into the frame and leads the eye toward the mountain at the same moment the mountain pulls the eye upward. Moran isn't the tallest peak in the Tetons, but it's often the most photogenic — that distinctive dark dike of rock cutting through the snow and granite makes it instantly recognizable.
