They investigate everything - smell it, paw at it, consider it from different angles before deciding what it is. This one had decided to investigate whatever was at the water's edge by the simplest possible method: walking up to it and looking. The eye was bright and direct, the posture unhurried. There was no fear in it, which is both the delight and the responsibility of encounters like this one.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eCurious by Nature is the image from this collection that I find myself returning to most often - not for its drama, but for its lack of it. It is a young animal doing what young animals do: encountering the world and leaning in toward it instead of away.
