Hidden in Plain Sight
Each piece is captured in a rare moment where light, time, and place come together.
The bear had been in the vegetation for some time before I noticed it - and I was on foot, close enough that not noticing it was a meaningful oversight. We had been working through the grizzly mazes that afternoon, the dense corridors of brush and tall grass that line the Alaskan riverbanks where the bears move and concentrate and the walking demands constant attention in every direction. The bear had simply materialized in the frame: the dense summer growth concealing the upper body completely, only the head and the back of the neck visible above the green. It was looking toward the water. I was looking toward the bank. We were both doing the same thing: watching, from cover, for what was moving in the other direction.
Bears move through brush the way they move through everything - with an efficiency that their size makes surprising. This one was positioned at the edge of the vegetation with the patience of an animal that knew the river better than I did, waiting for its moment. The turquoise water shimmered beyond the bank. The summer foliage was at its fullest. The bear held its position and watched.
Hidden in Plain Sight is about the experience of finding an apex predator in a landscape where you thought you were alone - the moment when what looked like simply green turns out to contain something watching you back. It is also about the patience of wild animals, and how much of their life is spent in exactly this posture: still, aware, waiting, embedded in a landscape that provides exactly the cover they need.

My Commitment
craftsmanship
Quality and craftsmanship sit at the heart of every piece I produce—long after the shutter clicks and long before a print ever reaches a wall. From meticulous file preparation to museum-grade materials and exacting color accuracy, each image is refined through a deliberate, uncompromising process designed to honor the moment it was captured. It is this final, critical step that transforms a fleeting encounter in the wild into a lasting work of fine art.
