Vertical sunrise from the dunes on Hilton Head — sea oats dancing in the foreground, sun cracking the horizon, pastel sky layered gold over orange over blue. I set the tripod down low in the sand to let the grass work the foreground and framed through a gap in the taller oats to put the sun dead-center.
You don't get this hour twice in the same trip. I was lucky; the sky cooperated.
